The tagline for this blog reads, “Just a girl who appreciates humor in a sometimes humorless world.”
The world after all can be a very un-funny place but if I choose to not live in the world, how can I appreciate the good in it? Because there is good in the world, too. I’m sure of it. There are good books and places and people and things to do and paths to travel and food and oceans to swim in and hugs to give and receive. I know that all this waits for me and more!
Yet, for a long time now I’ve done anything in my power to remove myself from the world. I let the un-funny overtake the funny, till all the bad things became my life. It’s a terribly exhausting life to lead, and I’m very tired. Willpower alone cannot save me; I need a little hope, too. So again, I’m taking a period of league from this blog, from all of it.
“For what it’s worth: it’s never too later or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there is no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. And I hope you see things that will startle you. I hope you feel things that you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.”

Stay cool out there in the real world. I’ll be back.
